Exploring Canadian Studio Pottery

Collecting studio pottery is a tricky business largely due to the vagueness of stylized signatures underneath each piece, however, everyone needs to start learning somewhere and its a pretty good start when your first piece of modernist ceramic is a beautiful Harlander bowl! (true story).

Below is a small selection of stunning Canadian pots we have collected in the past few weeks.

Jack Herman 1970s signed jug

Ineke studio pottery from Victoria BC in its typical yellow/green colour. A lot of Ineke pottery is botanical and may have been inspired by the vegetation that grew in the Butchart Gardens.

Nancy Postma, a Nova Scotia potter (1970s onward).
